Defying The Odds: Mikie Breiner Receives RACE 101 Scholarship

Denver, NC: Illinois native, Mikie Breiner, driver of MB Enterprises #13 Super Late Model Chevrolet, is once again defying the odds by becoming the latest inductee into the 2012 class of RACE 101. Breiner, who suffered an injury that almost destroyed his racing dreams at a young age and has endured several challenges throughout the last few years, was awarded a scholarship into RACE 101’s driver development education program this week.

Founded in 2009 by Tony Blanchard, veteran crew chief, Annamarie Malfitana-Strawhand, longtime motorsports marketing and public relations consultant, and Adam Ross, veteran motorsports commentator, RACE 101 is an education and consulting program whose aim it is to teach up-and-coming drivers the skills necessary to become a success in motorsports.

Each year RACE 101 offers scholarships to skilled and deserving drivers who have an interest in taking their career to the next level. Breiner, who impressed RACE 101’s founders with his skills, knowledge and passion for driving, said that he is honored to have this opportunity. “This couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Breiner. My family and I have been struggling for the past few years and this opportunity has given us a whole new sense of hope.”

Mikie Breiner attended the George Barris Charity car show to Benefit the NorthPointe Resoures at Volo Auto Museum in Volo IL. He met 1000's of fans, signed autographs, met George Barris and gave him an autographed T-Shirt. George also gave Mikie an autographed picture. There were 100's of makes, models and, styles of cars at the show. There was food and entertainment. It was a fantastic time!

2011 Season News

Our 2011 season is underway at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schereville, Indiana. New Track...New Car...Same Challenge...To race hard and take our fans and marketing partners to the Winners Circle. This year our team takes another step up into higher levels of competition, with our move to Super Late Model stock cars on longer and faster tracks. 2010 Race Season is in Review

We finished the Illinois State NASCAR Late Model standings in 6th place out of 39 teams! Of the 16 races at Rockford Speedway we started, Mikie achieved five Top 5 and thirteen Top 10 finishes. Mikie finished out of the Top 10 in only 3 races this season. At Rockford Speedway, our team finished ahead of 6 teams that had the same number or more races than our team.

2009 Mikie Wins Rookie of the Year!!

Rockford Speedway (Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009) Mikie wins the Rookie of the Year honors at Rockford Speedway. Mikie was also honored with the Driver Development award for 2009. Rockford Speedway bestows this award on the driver that they deem "Most likely to make it to the Big League".
